CHIȘINĂU CITY HALL KNOWS HOW TO MANAGE CRISES
While the central authorities were trying to get to grips with the situation, the people of the country, together with the mayors across Moldova, engaged in the community response to the refugee crisis from the very beginning.
Chișinău City Hall has mobilized all its resources to support the people who fled the war. For a month, all employees of the municipality, side by side with volunteers, economic operators, NGOs from the capital worked non-stop to ensure all the necessary conditions for the people who took refuge in Chișinău.
In the first weeks of the war we set up thousands of beds in state and non-state facilities for refugees. We asked for help from HORECA, retail businesses, NGOs and Chișinău residents to cope with the huge demand for hot food, accommodation, medical and psychological help, clothes, hygiene products, etc. We are proud of what we have achieved. We are proud of the people of Chișinău!
Not only were we at the forefront throughout this intense period, but we also came up with logistical models that were subsequently taken up and multiplied nationally.
Dear residents of the municipality of Chișinău, thank you for your empathy, patience and courage!
